New York City Eats

Image
Food.  It's a love language, right?! It's one of the first things I research once I have booked a trip. Almost all of the food I'll be featuring on todays post were ones I researched thourghouly!  Although we stumbled on a few of our own that we loved.. so coming right up: Things you need to eat in NYC (and area).                                   Breakfast   1) Best Bagel and Coffee   We tried a few bagel places but this was by far the best bagel place we tried. What's a trip to New York without eating a bagel right? Well look no farther. Get the plain bagel with egg, cheese and bacon. Its life changing! (They are also extremely large! We were full and skipped lunch!)  Cost:$6.00  2) Lenwich This one was a random stop and I'm so glad we did! The wrap was filled with home fries, egg and grilled pastrami. It was filling and really delicious. Price point w...

California February 2018

Image
Wow time really got away from me the last couple of months. I had meant to post about this a LONG time ago! Here is a recap of my trip to Carlsbad/ San Deigo, California! This was the first time I had ever left my kids, but it was a great recharge for me. I got to tag along for a work conference for my dads company.  Kudos to my husband for totally nailing it at home. And also my dad for winning an award! (At the awards dinner) Carlsbad, California  We stayed at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad. Its over 4500 acres in total and has a few golf courses. To be honest it felt like its own little town. There were multiple restaurants and a shopping areas, along with over 8 pools! Not going to lie though it was COLD. Like I was shivering without a jacket during the day cold...definitely not the warm Californian escape I was expecting. HA! But I really can't complain because it was a treat to see flowers and palm trees in the winte...

Shopping Canadian

Image
Shopping local is important to me,  do you have local company you love? Here are 5 different Canadian companies you can love and support! Is that something that is important to you as well?  *Can I just note that it is REALLY hard to find all Canadian brands.* I also think supporting little Canadian stores are important too! Each of these images are straight off of their sites, take a peek! 1) Buttercream Clothing I have talked about this company before. I love them! Seriously. The comfiest clothes and they are ethically Canadian made! I can attest to both the quality of fabric but also how practical the pieces are. They have some mens clothes and carry PLUS sizes too! Whoop whoop! 2) Canadian Made Apparel    "A Canadian Brand thats actually made in Canada". I like the sounds of that!  Their clothes have a more "leisure" feel to them and are for both men and women. Their shirts feature quirky sayings that Canadians are known for, like this ...

Feature Wall

Image
I love mixing things up and trying new things when it comes to decor. Maybe its because I stay at home with my kids and see I see the same 4 rooms all day, everyday. Or because one of my favourite shows is HGTV and I want to redesign and redo my house ALL THE TIME.  But it gets costly to constantly change things, so I wanted to add a feature wall but make it cost effective. So insert awesome wallpaper here:  There are so many amazing patterns both neutral and really funky when it comes to wallpaper! What I also love about wallpaper is how cost effective, yet dramatic it can be. I find it to be quite easy to install. (always buy pre-pasted- trust me) as long as you follow the steps it's pretty straight forward. This is the second time I have done wallpaper so that could by why I found it easy this time. Make sure that your very first strip is straight. I also suggest buying a wallpaper "kit" It includes a tray (to wet your paper), the scraper (to smooth the wallpap...
