Feature Wall
I love mixing things up and trying new things when it comes to decor. Maybe its because I stay at home with my kids and see I see the same 4 rooms all day, everyday. Or because one of my favourite shows is HGTV and I want to redesign and redo my house ALL THE TIME. But it gets costly to constantly change things, so I wanted to add a feature wall but make it cost effective.
So insert awesome wallpaper here:
There are so many amazing patterns both neutral and really funky when it comes to wallpaper! What I also love about wallpaper is how cost effective, yet dramatic it can be. I find it to be quite easy to install. (always buy pre-pasted- trust me) as long as you follow the steps it's pretty straight forward. This is the second time I have done wallpaper so that could by why I found it easy this time.
Make sure that your very first strip is straight. I also suggest buying a wallpaper "kit" It includes a tray (to wet your paper), the scraper (to smooth the wallpaper down), an Exacto knife (to trim the edges/excess) and a sponge (to wipe the front off to remove any excess glue). Its only about $10 for it all.
I found this specific print at Loews for about $32/ roll. I ended up using just over a roll for this wall. {Thanks for the help Derek.} This is definitely a 2 person job.
When I envisioned this wall I always pictured a big round mirror. So I headed to Homesense and I found this amazing mirror! Its totally perfect for the space. It was regular $72 or sale for $50 but because I used my credit card points to buy a gift card, I paid $25 for it!
SO for under $100 I completely transformed the room. I totally love it and I can't get over how much it changes the look of the space.
