Fall Meal Plan

Image
Its hard to as a mom (or dad) to plan dinner every night. Trust me, the days I don't meal plan we often end up eating cereal or eating out. This is not cost effective or the healthiest, so Ive found that meal planning is the way to go! Im hoping that this meal plan will be helpful for you also. I have 2 picky children and one hungry husband and these meals are a hit with everyone! They are also easy meals and most of them are a "one pan" kind of meal. (Im all for less dishes) 1) Smoked Sausage Alfredo Bake  Recipe: https://www.letsdishrecipes.com/2014/10/spicy-smoked-sausage-alfredo-bake.html This recipe is creamy and really easy to make. You could even buy a jar of alfredo sauce and cut down on some of the work too!  2) One pan Garlic- Parmasean Veggies and Sausage  Recipe: https://www.chelseasmessyapron.com/one-pan-healthy-sausage-and-veggies I have made this meal multiple times and I love the flavours and honestly the only time I like eating beans...

Distressed Clothing

Image
I am always up for a good sale, so when I saw American Eagle was having one...I was all over that! I eyed this plaid shirt online and it went in and out of my cart multiple times. But after seeing it in person, I bought it! Plaid is one of those prints that will live on forever. Its a staple and looks great on everyone. The fabric on this shirt is also thicker, so it could pass as a light spring or fall coat. My jeans were also AA sale ($30). I love how ripped they are, plus they are a legging material so super comfy. It has a bit of deconstruction on the hem/elbows and random places. Now I know that this "fad" is not everyones cup of tea. (My parents asked me why I would buy ripped clothes lol) But I love it and I can't get enough of it! Plus this shirt literally feels like a PJ top and the best part.... BAM EMBROIDERED ROSES!   (Was on sale for $18) I added a soft choker long sleeve underneath. (Also on sale at Western Bliss Boutique) Its a soft material tha...

Camo in the fall.

Image
I love fall for a lot of different reasons. The colours of the leaves, the sunrises, pumpkin everything, boots... ok I could go on and on. Fall is such a fun time to style clothing. With the weather changing you get to layer more. Adding vests, scarves and more adds so much dimension to an outfit. This camo vest is no exception. I'm taking a black thermal and some jeans to the next level by just throwing on a camo vest, a fun necklace and some cute shoes! Suddenly I look more put together than I feel. Which is always a bonus! Plus its lightweight so I can wear it on the warmer days. (Hello Chinooks in Canada)  The fun necklace: This necklace has so much movement. It's unique and different, yet works for everyday. It could also be that I love tassels. ( You will see a lot of tassels on my blog).  The Camo vest: Camo print could almost be considered a neutral in my opinion.  It has been around for a while so I would invest in adding some pieces to your wardrobe!...

Wilderness Room

Image
On today's blog I'm showcasing my son's bedroom! I was about 5 months pregnant with my 2nd boy and "Pinteresting", when I came across a wilderness theme. I instantly knew I wanted it for Levi because it was cute and a little whimsical. So my idea was set but I had a hard time finding wilderness themed items. So I DIY'd a lot of the decorations for his room. Here are some easy and cute wilderness themed DIY's!                                                                                1) Felt succulents: These were really fun to make and actually quite easy. I bought all of my supplies at Michael's. Its actually a picture frame I painted and then hot glued everything on! I chose to go with 3 different variations of green felt for variety. I also cut out different patterns ...

Date Night Details

Image
When my husband and I get to go on a date (which isn't very often) I like to dress up. So when I recently found this tunic at Winners, I snagged it up! The fabric is so soft and I love how it's a high/low style. Which means you could wear it with leggings too! But my favorite part about this shirt? It's the grey colour with the gold pattern. It's so pretty and makes me feel feminine. 😍  Can we also take a minute to appreciate a pretty cuff bracelet? I snagged this beauty off of Varagesale for $5. (brand is Stella & Dot) The necklace I'm wearing is also Stella &Dot  Throw on some dark wash jeans,  (mine are Reitmans) some cute heels (Sirens) and you got yourself a winner- winner date night dinner look.   Can we give props to my husband?! He is getting good at taking my photos 😘 Thanks for reading! Don't forget to hit the Subscribe button ❤

My reading nook.

Image
It's no secret that I love to read. I have read over 500 novels to date! So I've always dreamed of a space of my own that's filled with books. ;) When we moved into our home, it had this tiny space upstairs with no purpose. It was perfect for my little library. Finally this summer I was able to check it off my list! I was originally wanting a built-in bookcase but $$ so we headed to Ikea instead! We got these Billy bookcases for $60/each. Magically they fit side by side, like they were made for the space!   (The crazy thing is I'm missing about 20 books that people are borrowing! I'm still working out the final layout once I get them all back.) The wall opposite from the bookcases was bare and needed a little something extra. So I added a gallery wall. This wall was a perfect spot for one! I wanted the space to feel elegant and fun.  I chose gold accents and pieces that went with my theme. This gallery wall is everything I wanted it to be. (Happily E...

4 ways to "Stay on trend but not break the bank."

Image
I have a love for fashion or more so, AFFORDABLE FASHION. I love finding a good deal on clothing, accessories and more! Here are 4 key ways to stay "on trend without breaking the bank." 1) Start with buying basics. Basic t-shirt, basic sweater, basic jeans. Once you have these, it's like a canvas you can constantly change up! Below I paired a long sleeved shirt  (on sale at Old Navy for $12!) And added a cute blanket scarf and some booties! 2) Never pay full price. I never pay full price! It's a blessing and a curse signing up for emails because A) You know about sales and B) You know about sales. You feel me? Set a budget and stick to it. It's amazing the deals you find if you're pinching pennies. There is also great sites like Ebates where you get money back on purchases. Ca-ching. More savings! (Boots were $9.99 @JustFab) 3) Trendy clothes will make its way into just about every clothing company at some point. So browse...a lot! I don't ...

Well hello there!

Image
Hello! My name is Megan. I've blogged on and off (more off) since 2011! I am a wife, mom, follower of Jesus, lover of fashion, makeup and traveling. This will be reflected in my posts and they will contain a little bit of everything. I also am an M.S. "fighter." My hope is to raise awareness and also encourage anyone who is fighting an autoimmune disease! I got married at the ripe old age of, ahem 19. As you can imagine I got some interesting and sometimes unwarranted reactions. "You're engaged?" " How old are you? Do you know how high the divorce rate is?" " I would never let my daughter get married that young"....yada yada yada. But thankfully I didn't listen to what anyone said! I have been married to my husband for over 6 years and haven't regretted it for one second! I have 2 beautiful boys, Noah (3) and Levi (almost 2) and a puppy named Tucker!  This is my beautiful, complicated and often crazy life.
