Brownie Trifle
We are having company tonight and so I wanted to make a little something special for dessert! Also a great excuse to eat dessert on a Monday night. ;)
After some Pinterest browsing I decided to try this Brownie Trifle! I love trifles because 1) They are so easy to make 2) Taste delicious 3) Look really pretty! Also who doesn't like chocolate? So Im betting its a safe bet!
Here is a simple step-by-step process of making a non traditional trifle. Often times the only difference is the cake (or in this case brownie) and if you add berries, candy ect.
1) Cake
2) Pudding
3) Cool whip
4) Repeat allll the way to the top of your dish!
So I started with a boxed brownie mix because #makeslifeeasier. Then just spooned the mixture along the bottom of my little dessert bowls. You could totally use 2- bite brownies or even pre-made ones! (the dessert bowls were a wedding present but you can find them at Bed Bath and Beyond)
Next I made some chocolate pudding and added that on top of the brownies. **drool**
Last up was a good ole dollop of Cool Whip. Again you can make your own brownies, pudding and whip cream from scratch (totally up to you!) but for me it was easier to do it this way! Also you don't even have to be a talented baker or dessert maker to make this.
The final product:
Isn't it pretty??? I love the look of trifles, they look so fancy and just yum. I can't wait to dive into these bad boys tonight!
Here is the exact recipe- I didn't use all the exact same products but the idea was the same! http://www.oliviascuisine.com/brownie-trifle/
Are you a trifle lover? Whats your go-to dessert for when company comes over?
